Ghost Mountain Ranch is a family-oriented camping Resort in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas near the historic gold mining town of Placerville. It is situated right on the snow line, a half hour from the rugged grandeur and beauty of Echo Summit, and an hour from Lake Tahoe. An authentic ghost town and the remains of what was once one of the richest gold mines in the area, are on the 325 acre, pine covered preserve. Elevation: 3,700 ft.

FACILITIES

Clubhouse, swimming pool, spa, game room general store, bar and grill, seasonal snack bar, movie theater, laundry facilities, dump station. Park activities and game room available on weekends only.

RECREATION

On-Site:  Hiking, rock-hounding, horseback riding (fee), swimming, fishing, outdoor BBQs, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball. Some facilities seasonal.

Off-Site:  Downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, panning for gold, fishing, boating.

SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS

Apple Hill, museums, Old Hangtown, numerous resorts and casinos at Lake Tahoe, are an hour away.

RESORT GUIDELINES

Pets not allowed in rental facilities or buildings. Pets must be on a leash. No motorcycles on trails. No off road vehicles allowed (dirt bikes, Quads, Mules, etc). Only 2 structures allowed on a site. Early check-in fee applies.

RESERVATION PROCEDURES

Reservations required for RV sites and may be made up to 30 days in advance through RPI's Central Reservations Office. Rental reservations must be made directly through the Resort. There is a 2-night minimum stay in rentals.

DIRECTIONS

From Sacramento, take Hwy 50 east to the first Pollock Pines exit. Turn left under the freeway, turn right on Pony Express Trail. Turn left on Blair Rd and left on Badger Hill Rd (follow the signs).
